Are you still looking for a place where you can take a client or co-worker for a business breakfast in Karlín so you have short trip back to the office? Then search no more because we’ve got a few of our favourites that are bound to impress you.
Spojka Karlín

Located in the Praga Studios building, Spojka Karlín offers modern meals, especially for vegetarians, vegans, and those who have a gluten-free diet. Did you know that besides excellent lunches and dinners, it also offers breakfasts? You can order from the breakfast menu from 8 to 11:15 p.m., ideal for early birds and morning meetings. The selection at Spojka Karlín is broad with mostly savoury offerings: From a classic full English to shakshuka, avocado toast, and eggs prepared in various ways. Just make a reservation on the restaurant’s website so they save you a table.

Eska

This Karlín restaurant belonging to the Ambiente group is a great place for a business breakfast or a long brunch over the weekend. Eska is spacious and airy with pleasant service and great breakfasts offered from 8-12. The most popular dish is the Karlín breakfast with bread grilled over wood, scrambled eggs, marinated trout, farmer’s cheese, fresh vegetables, cream, and fermented lemonade. They also offer a fantastic omelette, high-quality sausages, and crepes like grandma makes. Eska also has its own bakery and it’s impossible to resist the fresh rolls and pastries. They also bake phenomenal bread, and produce their own homemade butter, marmalades, and spreads. On top of that, everything on the menu and is available for take-away. Eska is very popular, so it’s best to make a reservation on the restaurant’s website.

Yes kafe / wine

Yes kafe / wine is a calm location with a view of the Vltava River close to Přístav that hasn’t been overrun yet. It opens at 8:30 a.m. on weekdays, so don’t worry about reservations. There is plenty of seating with outdoor tables for use in warm weather. It’s a quiet place for a meeting, and they even have options if you want to celebrate a deal in the early hours of the day. As the name suggests, Yes isn’t just about the coffee, but also high-quality wines. It also offers excellent food with both sweet and savoury dishes. We recommend traditional eggs benedict or the light pancakes.

Bistro Proti proudu

This bistro offers a mix of home cooking and Mediterranean specialities that offers breakfast dishes throughout the day, as well as homemade lemonade and old-school roasted coffee according to Italian traditions. Bistro Proti proudu is a fixture in Karlín where you can find an exceptional breakfast, a great lunch, or have a glass of fine wine in the evening. This popular spot was the brainchild of David Konečný and Karolina Konečná, well-known Czech foodies. She is originally a journalist and the author of a popular cookbook of recipes from Sardinia, as well as the founder of Avocado Gang, another popular Karlín bistro. When Proti proudu was opened in March 2015, you could count the number of places offering excellent coffee and modern cuisine in Karlín on one hand. David and Karolina followed their intuition that told them this part of Prague had excellent potential and would soon be an amazing place, which is now true.

It's busy here for breakfast (and the rest of the day too), so we certainly recommend making a reservation. The morning menu is varied with both sweet and savoury options. Besides classics like scrambled eggs, you can also try their secret spread whose recipe they carefully guard. There is also the option of a hearty mug of cocoa with a pastry and homemade butter and marmalade. It’s a great place for lively conversations and Proti proudu also offers a pleasant environment that’s simple but elegant along with friendly staff.

Fuel Bistro

The spacious and quirky Fuel Bistro catches the eye. It’s a bit off the beaten track, so it offers a more relaxing atmosphere and the knowledge that it will be easier to find a table in the afternoon. It’s located in the AFI Butterfly building in Pernerova street and opens every day at 9 a.m. Fuel is for people who live healthy and balanced diets. Try the protein waffles with bananas, shakshuka with eggs and baked vegetables, or a sandwich with Prague ham, cottage cheese, and herbs. The meals and vitamin-packed smoothies are made from fresh local ingredients and some homemade products are available for take-away. They even roast their own coffee.

It’s been two weeks since the 300 metre-long bridge between Karlín and Holešovice opened, connecting both neighbourhoods and the Štvanice Island for those on foot or on bikes. HolKa, as the bridge is known, was opened on July 28 by representatives of Prague’s City Hall, Prague 7, Prague 8, and co-designers Petr Tej and Marek Blank. Construction began last January and the cost totalled CZK 352 million.
